Environmental issues are harmful effects of human activity in the biophysical environment. Environmental protection is the practice of protecting the natural environment at the individual, organizational or government level, for the good of the environment and people. Environmentalism, social and environmental movements, addressing environmental issues through advocacy, education and activism.
The carbon dioxide equivalent to greenhouse gases (GHG) in the atmosphere has exceeded 400 parts per million (NOAA) (with total "long-term" greenhouse gases exceeding 455 parts per million) (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change Reports). This level is considered a critical point. "The amount of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere is above the threshold that has the potential to cause dangerous climate change. We've been risking many areas of pollution... This is not next year or the next decade, right now." The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) has stated "Climate change is not only a distant future threat, it is a key driver behind the growing humanitarian need and we are seeing the impact." The number of people affected and the damage inflicted by extreme weather has not ever happened before. "Furthermore, OCHA has stated:
The climate of the climate is on the rise. About 70 percent of disasters are now climate-related - up from about 50 percent from two decades ago.
This disaster takes a heavier human toll and comes with a higher price tag. In the last decade, 2.4 billion people were affected by climate-related disasters, compared with 1.7 billion in the previous decade. The cost of responding to disasters has increased tenfold between 1992 and 2008.
The sudden heavy rains are devastating, intense tropical cyclones, repeated floods and droughts are likely to increase, as are the vulnerabilities of local communities in the absence of strong joint action.
Environmental damage caused by humans is a global problem, and this is a problem that happens every day. By 2050, the global human population is expected to grow 2 billion people, reaching a level of 9.6 billion people (Living Blue Planet 24). Human effects on Earth can be seen in various ways. The main thing is temperature rise, and according to our "Climate Change" report, global warming that has lasted for the last 50 years is mainly due to human activities (Walsh, et al. 20). Since 1895, the average US temperature has increased from 1.3 Ã, à ° F to 1,9Ã,à ° F, with most of the increase occurring since about 1970 (Walsh, et al. 20).

Current major environmental issues may include climate change, pollution, environmental degradation, and resource depletion, etc. Conservation movements lobby for protecting endangered species and protecting ecologically valuable natural areas, genetically engineered food, and global warming.

Scientific foundation
The level of understanding of the Earth has increased sharply in recent times through science, especially with the application of scientific methods. Environmental science is now a multi-disciplinary academic study taught and researched in many universities. This is used as a basis for addressing environmental issues.
A large amount of data has been collected and these are aggregated into reports, whose general type is the publication of the State of the Environment. A recent major report is the Millennium Ecosystem Assessment, with input from 1200 scientists and released in 2005, which shows the high level of human impacts in ecosystem services.
Organization
Environmental issues are addressed at the regional, national or international levels by government organizations.
The largest international institution, formed in 1972, is the United Nations Environment Program. The International Union for Nature Conservation brings together 83 countries, 108 government agencies, 766 non-governmental organizations and 81 international organizations and about 10,000 experts and scientists from countries around the world. International non-governmental organizations include Greenpeace, Friends of the Earth and the World Wide Fund for Nature. The government enacts environmental policies and enforces environmental laws and this is done to different degrees throughout the world.

Solution
Sustainability is the key to preventing or reducing the effects of environmental problems. There is now clear scientific evidence that humanity lives unsustainably, and that an unprecedented collective effort is needed to restore the use of human resources into sustainable boundaries. In order for humans to live sustainably, the Earth's natural resources must be used at a level where they can be recharged (and by limiting global warming).
Environmental concerns have prompted the formation of a green party, a political party seeking to address environmental concerns. Originally this was formed in Australia, New Zealand and Germany but is now present in many other countries.
Movies and TV
There is an increasing number of films produced on environmental issues, especially on climate change and global warming. The 2006 Al Gore film An Inconvenient Truth gained commercial success and a high media profile.
