Informally, a global issue is a problem that issues [social problems | social, economic, political or environmental impacts on our global community and our environment, perhaps in a very bad way.
Solutions to global problems require cooperation between countries.
In their book Global Issues, Hite and Seitz emphasize that global issues are qualitatively different from international affairs and that the first arises from the growth of international interdependence that makes the issues themselves interdependent. It is thought that our global connection, rather than (only) makes us tougher, makes us more vulnerable.
