Panduan/Format Standar untuk membuat dan mengelola artikel dari Template ini

We Wikipedians who will work on this article must agree on some guidelines to deal with issues such as (1) The name of the tournament changes slightly from year to year (eg 1963 Thunderbird Classic Invitational called Thunderbird Invitational in 1959) (2) The tournament is absorbed into or joining other events (eg 1969 Danny Thomas-Diplomat Classic joined the Memphis Open to form the 1970's Danny Thomas Memphis Classic)

I propose a set of standard guidelines (please add or modify this as I'm sure I have not thought about any issues that may arise):

  • Provide an article of the last (latest) version of the event, or in the alternate, most played name.
  • The event's initial name should be redirected to the article.
  • For an event that is no longer played but is absorbed into an event that has its own article, put this as a redirect to the article, and add relevant content to the it article - instead of a new article.-- Hokeman 17:06, September 20, 2007 (UTC)

Special notes to consider when creating articles from this Template

Please add to this
  • The Seattle Open Invitational was called the Seattle World Open Invitational Fair in 1962.
  • The US Professional Matches Championship is called the Liggett Championship and Myers Open Match Play. I think the year name changes around 1971.
  • Tournaments sponsored by the Carling Brewing Company in the 1950s and 1960s had many names. It was called Carling's Golf Classic and then Carling Golf Classic and then Carling Open became Carling Open Invitational which became Carling World Open circa 1960 and 1964
  • The St. Petersburg Open (PGA Tour event) to St. Petersburg Open Invitational
  • Lucky International becomes Lucky International Open
  • St Paul Open to St. Paul Open Invitational in 1957
  • Open East became the Open East Invitational in 1957
  • Lucky International became Lucky International Open in 1962
  • The Philadelphia tournament was called the early Philadelphia Open (like 1920) then became the Philadelphia Enquirer Open (like the late 1930s) then became Philadelphia Daily News Open in the 1950s; and later became the Whitemarsh Open Invitational who became the Philadelphia Golf Classic who became IVB before finally dying. All Philadelphia tournaments must remain together in the same article
  • The Coral Springs Open becomes Coral Springs Open Invitational - Hokeman (talk) 19:33, 22 November 2007 (UTC)
