Pine Rest Christian Mental Health Services is a psychiatric hospital and healthcare provider, with a major care campus located in Gaines Township, Michigan. Chief Executive Officer and President is Dr. Mark Eastburg, was appointed in December 2006.

Pine Rest is one of the five largest free health care providers in the US, offering services including addictive care and recovery, extensive child and youth programs, postpartum and other perinatal mood disorders, elderly care services, and Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT ) and Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation Therapy (TMS). In addition to the main campus in Grand Rapids, Pine Rest also has only less than 20 outpatient locations across Michigan and two in Iowa.

The in-patient treatment program of Pine Rest is licensed for 200 beds, with housing services for male and female adolescents; older adults overcome dementia; those who need addiction services; those who require sub-acute detoxification program services; and people with developmental disabilities.

Pine Rest seeks to incorporate faith and healing into patient care: it has an active chaplainage service to provide spiritual care to the patient. In addition, Clinical Pastoral Education is offered through Pine Rest.

History

Founded in 1910 as Christian Psychopathic Hospital.

In 2007 the hospital opened Gerald & amp; Jane-Ann Postma Center for Worship and Education, a $ 3.7 million training center targeted at nursing, behavioral health and pastoral students and staff members of Pine Rest. With more than 15,000 square feet (1,400 m 2 ), the center can accommodate groups of 500 people in five multi-purpose rooms. In 2008, Pine Rest opened InterActions Residential Care Center on its main campus. A safe 16 bed care center is designed to help adults with chronic and/or persistent mental illness, including those with mild developmental disabilities and mental illness, or with mental illness and substance abuse issues.

In December 2012, Pine Rest implements a Mother and Infant Program designed to provide short-term intensive care to women who are pregnant or up to one year postpartum and struggle with perinatal mood disorders.

In 2013, the Van Andel-Cook Center for Dementia and Geriatric Behavioral Health opened as part of a 3-phase expansion project on Pine Rest's main campus in Cutlerville. 349 donors donate more than $ 3.2 million towards the total project cost. Lectures, classes and events

Pine Rest sponsors workshops, classes and special events throughout the year for both professionals and the public. Rural Market Store

The results of the Rustic Rural Market Shop in Gaines Township were used to expand Pinus Pinus Mental Health services through the Patient Assistance Fund (PAF). The funds provide financial assistance to those in the community who need mental health care, but have little or nothing to pay for the services. Since it opened in 1971, the Rustic Market has generated over $ 1 million for PAF.

The Rustic Market provides resident employee coupons during the holidays.
