Video Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Occupational Safety and Health

Selamat datang di WikiProject OSH baru!

I would like to introduce everyone to the new WikiProject Occupational Safety and Health, created by the incorporation of the deadly WikiProject NIOSH and WikiProject Occupational Safety. My goal for WikiProject is to track the state of Wikipedia coverage on OSH issues and organize the work around it. Emily and I are happy to support this project on behalf of the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, even though WikiProject belongs to all Wikipedia. Go ahead, dig deeper - I've created some job listings based on SaranBot to get started. James Hare (NIOSH) (talk) 12:03, 4 August 2015 (UTC)

Assessment marks

Emily, how should we associate the article as part of our project? James Hare (NIOSH) (talk) 17:42, 7 August 2015 (UTC)

@James Hare (NIOSH): I do it manually, it should only take a few days. Emily Temple-Wood (NIOSH) (talk) 17:47, 7 August 2015 (UTC)

Impression Statistics

After a recent request, I added a Work Safety and Health WikiProject to the project list to collect monthly pageview statistics for. This data is the same as used by http://stats.grok.se/en/but the program is different, and includes aggregate views of all redirects to each page. Statistics are on Wikipedia: WikiProject Safety and Health/Popular Pages.

This page will be updated monthly with new data. Edits are not marked as bot edits, so they will appear in the watchlist. You can see more results, request new projects added to the list, or request a configuration change for this project using the Labs Tool tool. If you have any comments or suggestions, please let me know. Thank you! Mr. Z - man 03:48, 14 August 2015 (UTC)

Psychosocial

The Wikipedia entry for psychosocial harm is fairly new and very short, but there is already a wealth of information about psychosocial factors (including hazards) scattered throughout Wikipedia. These articles include: [Register moved to User: James Hare (NIOSH)/Psychosocial]. Should there also be a Wikipedia article about psychosocial factors at work that includes danger and good things? Should the article about the psychosocial danger be folded into a common work factor one? James Hare (NIOSH) (talk) 19:55, 4 September 2015 (UTC)

Hi, I've started a discussion on what to do about the phrases R and S in chembox (now it's not working) and because it's so relevant to this WikiProject, I'll just leave a note about it. (details here) - Osprey Project (talk) 08:50, 10 September 2015 (UTC)

Agricultural safety and health in nursing education

Agricultural safety and health are not often incorporated into the basic baccalaalaureate nursing curriculum. A nursing professor with responsibility in public health nursing education and laboratory experience may have the autonomy to teach this content and to provide learning experience in this field. Identification of exposure and control strategies for chemical, biological and physical hazards are just some of the work problems faced by nurses in practice. While some nursing students have an agricultural background, many do not. However, once they graduate, they can take the opportunity to work in rural communities. In clinics and other medical facilities, patients will present with symptoms of injury or illness caused by exposure to family farms or production sites. If the nurse knows to do a history of work and the environment with that patient, the etiological discovery of the condition may be clearly illuminated.

Dr. Lisa Schiller, University of Wisconsin Eau Claire, School of Nursing and Health Sciences, is an example of a professor who blends the safety and health of agriculture into basic nursing education. http://www.uwec.edu/news/stories/student-nurses-make-house-calls-on-the-farm_15747

Maintenance work

For everyone to know, I will make changes to the {{Load WikiProject Module}} Lua module, which is used on this project to render different sections. This change involves, inter alia, moving the header of different sections from the subpage and to the main WikiProject page. This change will make WikiProject easier to use and maintain. During this change, there may be a short time window where the WikiProject page looks damaged. After the change is complete, everything should be returned to normal. If not, clear your cache and it will work. If there are any bugs, please let me know immediately on my talk page. Thanks, Harej (talk) 01:27, December 15, 2015 (UTC)

This job is now done. Please let me know if there are any bugs. Harej (talk) 02:22, December 15, 2015 (UTC)

Uncontrolled vapor clouds explosion

There seems to be no article on the exposure of steam clouds, both explosions of irregular steam clouds and the explosion of vapor clouds that divert to thermobaric weapons. Given the long list of deadly accidents (San Juanico disaster, Kingman Explosion, 1970 Propane vapor cloud explosion at Port Hudson, Texas City Refinery explosion, etc...), would not the gas explosion be a better target for diversion? Transportation of compressed gas cylinder

If this is within the scope of the project, does anyone have access to legislation? I am looking for restrictions on transporting scuba tubes in the US. o o o Peter (Southwood) (talk) : 13:30, 21 January 2016 (UTC)

Pbsouthwood, I believe this will be within coverage as far as it could pose a potential health hazard to people carrying compressed gas cylinders. I am not sure which specific pieces of legislation will cover this, but it will surely be covered by the Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations in the Code of Federal Regulations. HIRA articles needed?

There is currently no article on Hazard Identification and Risk Analysis or redirection using this name or the usual HIRA acronym/acronym. Currently HIRA is an article about proteins encoded by genes of the same name. I do not know how important HIRA is to this project, but in commercial dives it is important for occupational health and safety, and is often a legal requirement for diving operations. I think the article should be there, but would like to comment from others, especially about how important it is for the project, and whether it should redirect to the existing article, and in which case, which article. o o o Peter (Southwood) (talk) : 12:07, July 15, 2016 (UTC)

US law governing diving operations

I need a list of relevant US, Federal and state laws, for a list of new articles from the laws governing underwater diving. Any help will be appreciated. Links to official sources will be good. The list referenced in the article will be better. Additional paragraphs on the scope of each item will be best. Cheers, o o o Peter (Southwood) (talk) : 10:31, 16 November 2016 (UTC)

Chemicals in the project category

Does it really make sense to place a large number of chemical articles within the scope of the project? After all, almost all chemicals have some kind of health and safety aspects. You may also create Wikiproject Chemistry as a subproject. I think this only makes the Wikiproject category less useful. Spinning Spark 10:11, 6 December 2016 (UTC)

Spinningspark, I do not tag all chemicals, but which appear in the context of a safety and health work study, which is much less than 14,688 chemicals marked by WikiProject Chemicals. We want to make sure this article is on our radar. James Hare (NIOSH) (talk) 10:51, 6 December 2016 (UTC)

2016 Community Clients Submission Survey Proposal to Revive Popular Pages

Regards WikiProject Members of Occupational Safety and Health!

This is a just one time message to let you know about a technical proposal to revive your Popular Pages list in the 2016 User Desire Surveys I thought You may be interested in reviewing and may even choose to:

  • Fix and upgrade the popular Mr.Z-bot report page

If the above proposal is included in Top 10 by voice, it is most likely that this bot is restored so your project will again see the monthly updates of popular pages.

Furthermore, there are more than 260 proposals for review and selection, in many aspects of the wiki.

Thank you for your consideration. Please note that voting for proposals continues until December 12, 2016.

Warmest regards, Stevietheman - Sent: 18:05, 7 December 2016 (UTC)

Report the popular page

We - Community Tech - are happy to announce that the Popular page bot is back and running (after one year of absence)! You received this message because WikiProject or your task force signed up to receive a report on a popular page. Every month, the Tech Community bot will post on Wikipedia: WikiProject Safety and Health/Popular pages with a list of the most viewed pages during the previous month which are within the scope of the Occupational Safety and Health WikiProject.

We've made some improvements to the original report. Here's a new one:

  • The pageview data includes desktop and mobile data.
  • The report will include a link to the pageview tool for each article, to dig deeper any surprises or anomalies.
  • The report will include the total pageviews for the entire project (including redirects).

We thank the Mr.Z-man for the original Mr.Z-bot , and we hope the bot becomes a happy retired robot. Just as before, we hope the popular reports report will help you understand the reach of the Work Safety and Health WikiProject, and what articles might deserve more attention. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us at m: User talk: bot Tech Community.

Warmest Regards, Community Technology Team 17:16, May 17, 2017 (UTC)
