13 Biggest Captain America: Civil War Movie / Comic Differences ...
src: i.ytimg.com

" Civil War " is a Marvel Comics crossover storyline 2006-07 consisting of seven limited edition editions of the same name written by Mark Millar and written by Steve McNiven, and other tie-in books that published by Marvel at the time. The storyline builds on the events developed in Marvel's earlier storyline, specifically "Avengers Disassembled", "House of M", and "Decimation". The tagline for this series is, "Who Side Do You Do?"

The plot of this series follows a skeletal storyline in which the US government passes the Superhero Registration Act, designed to have super-powerful individuals acting under official regulations, somewhat similar to law enforcement. However, the superheroes opposed to the action, led by Captain America, found themselves in conflict with those who supported the move, led by Iron Man, with Spider-Man caught in the middle; X-Men takes a neutral stance. The superheroes support the law, such as Iron Man, Mister Fantastic and Ms. Marvel, became increasingly authoritarian. After the war ended, Captain America surrendered and was imprisoned. The conflict between freedom and security is a fundamental theme in the storyline, with real-life events and discussions, such as increased US government oversight of its citizens, which serves as a backdrop for events in Civil War. The sequel, Civil War II , debuted in June 2016.

Series criticized polarized but commercial success. Captain America: Civil War in the Marvel Cinematic Universe was created as a loose adaptation of the same storyline.

Riwayat publikasi

The "Civil War" premises involve the introduction of the Superhuman Registration Law in the United States. Mark Millar, the author of the story, has said:

The action requires everyone in the United States with the superhuman abilities to register with the federal government as a "weapon of mass destruction of human beings," revealing their true identity to the authorities and then undergoing proper training. Those who signed also have the option of working for S.H.I.E.L.D., earning the salary and benefits as obtained by other American civil servants. The characters in the superhero community in Marvel Universe are divided into two groups: one advocacy of registration as a responsible duty, and the other defying the law on the ground that it violates civil liberties and the protection provided by a secret identity. While arguing directly with Iron Man about the law, Luke Cage (formerly the second Power Man), an African American, compares the compulsory registration for slavery. Some criminals also choose to take sides, some choose to side with the registration, others oppose it.

Delay

Marvel announced in August 2006 that some problems from the Civil War series would be pushed back a few months to accommodate artist Steve McNiven. The schedule issued a # 4 edition released one month late, in September, while the # 5 edition was released two months later, in November. In addition, various tie-in books including the Civil War: Front Line miniseries and other comic bond issues were delayed for months to avoid revealing the development of the storyline.

In late November 2006, Marvel announced another delay. Civil War # 6, originally scheduled for release on December 20, resigned two weeks and was released on January 4th. Unlike the previous example, only The Punisher War Journal # 2 was postponed. In the final act of rescheduling, Civil War # 7 was restarted two weeks (from 17 January to 31 January), and then retreat again until 21 February.

Amazing Spider-Man: Update Your Oath

When the Super-Human Enrollment Act was filed, Professor X and Avengers proposed an alternative method of self-policing of the mutantkind and super-powered communities, preventing the Civil War from ever occurring. Cyclops thought it did not make sense for Professor X to make himself a self-appointed mutantkind representative, and his opposition to Xavier's proposal prompted Jean Gray to break with him and marry Wolverine.

Earth-3490

When Mister Fantastic was researching the reality in which the Civil War ended differently, he discovered one fact where their Anthony Stark version was a woman named Natasha Stark. The Civil War was completely avoided in this fact because of his marriage to Steve Rogers.

Spider-Verse

During an attempt by the Superior-Man Spider (Man Doctor Octopus) who is displaced by reality in Peter Parker's body) to reach back to the dimension as seen in the Spider-Verse storyline, he finds another dimension where Spider -Man Iron-Civil Civil War lying dead (killed by Karn) who encouraged him to continue to investigate Spider-Men murder throughout Multiverse.

What If?

In How If Civil War Ends Differently? , strangers appear in front of Iron Man, who visits the tomb of the Captain America at Arlington National Cemetery. Tony Stark was told about two alternative ways that the Civil War could conclude:

  • The first details, "What if Captain America leads all heroes against the Registration Act?" In this fact, Tony Stark died of Extremist virus, leaving the US government to choose Steve Rogers as a spokesman for the hero, who as in the ordinary universe opposes registration. Though he succeeded in delaying his death, the Stamford catastrophe occurred as in reality 616. Without Tony Stark to provide a fairer enrollment path, the government's response is more extreme. The government troops led by Henry Peter Gyrich destroyed the resistance and many heroes were killed.

Faced with this vision, Tony believes that this proves he is right to pursue a pro-registration action, but the stranger then reveals another possibility;

  • The second detail, "What if Iron Man loses in Civil War?" In this fact, Iron Man asks Cap's help in chapter three instead of threatening him, admitting his doubts about his actions rather than trying to justify them, and thus Cap uses no hidden weapon in his gloves to disable Tony's armor. The heroes united to stop Thor cloning out of control, Ragnarok, who was released when Hill detected a weapon and assumed that Cap was still planning to use it. The resulting goodwill convinces Captain America to help run the program because he is the only hero who will believe in their secret identity.

The stranger was revealed to be Uatu, Earth 616's Watcher. After knowing the possibility of this alternative reality, Tony crumbles and cries for a bright future that he helps prevent.

In What If: Destruction by David Hine and Mico Suayan, the War of Cosmic Destruction reached Earth during the War. The heroes united to neutralize it, and many died in the first clash. The American captain and Iron Man, after the last reconciliation, sacrificed themselves with Nova to deflect the full Wave of Destruction.

Champions Contest

The 2015 Contest of Champions series featured an alternative version of the Civil War that all benefited Tony Stark. Five years after the war, Tony became President of the United States and led the Mighty Avengers as Iron Patriots. His team consists of Penance (Robbie Baldwin), Iron Spider (Natasha Romanov), Captain Marvel (Carol Danvers), and Thor clone known as Thunderstrike. Steve Rogers (no longer called Captain America) and his teammates have been arrested and bought time from their punishment by committing suicide as Thunderbolt. Steve Team consists of Spider-Man (Peter Parker), Invisible Woman, the Punisher, and Bill Foster's Goliath (survivors of the Civil War in this reality). Stark President and Mighty Avengersnya brought to Battleworld by Maestro and their memories altered to think that they are on the Earth and that the existing Renegade Champion guards are not registered. Thunderbolts were sent to rescue them, but misunderstandings led to the death of Penance and Thunderstrike and the three teams started fighting each other. Tony kills Steve when Steve lets his guard down, and reveals that he is in possession of the Gem Reality of Infinity Gauntlet. Tony and the Illuminati members divide the six Infinity Stones after pursuing them and vowing never to use them. But when Tony let the events of the Civil War going on in their natural course, he could not resist using the Reality Gem to change events in his favor. He uses gems to prevent Goliath's death, the assassination of the Captain America, turning his favorable war, and rigging the presidential election. He tried to use it again to cancel the killing of Steve, but because they were in another dimension, the Gem Reality did not work. Maestro kills Tony and Punisher, but is stopped by Stick intervention, The Sentry, and Nigel Higgins using Iso-Sphere. The rest of the five heroes of the Mighty Avengers and Thunderbolts stays behind Battleworld with Sentry and fight criminals who seek to collect Iso-Sphere as Civil Warriors.

Civil War in The Secret War (2015)

The "Civil War" plot is featured inside the 2015 "Secret Wars" storyline, a crossover storyline where it revisits the previous Marvel Comics storyline in the form of an isolated geographic location on a planet called Battleworld. The "Civil War" area is called Warzone.

In this story, the Stamford incident leads to a mounting political debate that culminated with both sides in Negative Zone Detention. During the fight, Black Panther gets into a prison computer and sees that the portal will explode, killing most of the fighters and damaging the rest. Black Panther assumes that Stark will send his fighters out at the last minute, but meanwhile, S.H.I.E.L.D. Director Mary Hill informs Stark that Black Panther activates explosives on the orders of Steve Rogers. Disabling the teleportation device, Black Panther tries to turn off the bomb. Everyone in prison rushes away through the power of the hero Cloak, who drops them all in the air above St. Louis. Unfortunately, Cloak can not turn off his power fast enough to block the explosion. The rays generated from the explosive energy create a vast chasm called Divide, destroying St. Louis and make millions dead.

The two sides regrouped, with the Pro-Registration group taking control of the land east of St. Louis, while the Anti-Registration group took control of the land to the west. Each side blames the other for death. East became "Iron", run by Tony Stark, and The West became "The Blue", run by Captain America. The difference in politics has led people to choose one side from another, with separation split each year. The only place in the country that includes both is the community in the ruins of St. Louis, built on a bridge over a ravine between the two sides. One of the inhabitants is Miriam Sharpe, a woman who lost her son in Stamford but who wants to bring peace.

Six years after the start of the conflict, Sharpe brings together the two leaders to discuss peace. At the meeting, Miriam was able to keep both men open. Stark explains that Iron has the wealth and resources of trading with the outside world in which Blue is considered a naughty state. However, its citizens ran out of space while Blue had twice the space but half the population. He proposes that Blue shrink, giving his people more room in exchange that Stark will make a trade concession. General Rogers rejected the offer, which led to the start of an old debate between the two men. When Miriam Sharpe tried to intervene, she was shot in the back by a sniper. Reacting first, General Rogers summoned Peter Parker to catch the shooter. Parker found a sniper rifle that was controlled remotely. When Miriam died, General Rogers realized that from the point of fire that the shooter was likely to target him. President Stark denies the shooter is one of his civil wars, but the renewed civil war seems inevitable.

President Stark sent an unmanned aircraft to track down the killers, but was shot down and the datacore claimed by Blue. President Stark discovers certain anomalies about past events, leading him to believe that events such as Sharpe's murder were caused by a third party. Meanwhile, Hank McCoy showed Rogers "Project Bellcurve", a procedure that can help superhuman. A lot of resources from Iron are required to continue the project, which Rogers sends teams consisting of Parker, Elektra, Azari, and Venom/Clint Barton to infiltrate the Stark region. At the same time, Stark sent Jennifer Walters to infiltrate Blue and continue to investigate Sharpe's murder.

The Spider-Man team suffered the first victim when Stark Sentinel killed Elektra. The team manages to address the remaining defenses (including reanimated corpses from Kingpin controlled by Octopus Doctor tentacles) thanks to Venom, and returns to Blue with the required components for "Project Bellcurve." At the same time, She-Hulk was able to infiltrate Steeltown. However, Agent Robbie Baldwin of Punishers recognized him and followed She-Hulk. He found the killer was Bullseye. Baldwin attacked Jen because he spied on Bullseye, and was forced to flee. Before he could leave Steeltown, he was attacked by an unknown attacker. She-Hulk woke up in an undisclosed location for being captured by Bullseye's client, Black Panther.

As Blue prepares to attack Iron in a last-ditch effort to end the war, Iron Man tracks Jen's position and flies to save her. He found it, but his armor was neutralized and stripped of him. Tony was brought to the Black Panther who revealed himself as Skrull Queen Veranke. Veranke tells him that he is the cause of any failed attempt to achieve peace in part of a plan to benefit from a never-ending war. Iron Man uses additional weapons that are not in his armor to free himself, fend off the Skrull guard, and smash She-Hulk free from his cage. Meanwhile, Blue overran Iron while General America prepares to detonate a bomb coming from Project Bellcurve.

When the conflict escalated, Iron Man was able to reach General America and revealed that Bucky was Skrull, which prompted General America to accept telepathic 'renewal' from Emma Frost who asserted that Skrulls had manipulated the conflict for years. Accepting their joint responsibility for the situation, Rogers and Stark sacrificed themselves to detonate Bellcurve bombs. The explosion lowered the superhuman and returned the Skrull to their true state. A few months later, the helpless Peter and Jennifer were shown discussing the temporary ceasefire that had formed between the two sides, and wondered whether Stark and Rogers knew that peace would be the result of their sacrifice.

Civil War II (2016)

The direct sequel to the original series debuted in June 2016, written by Brian Michael Bendis and drawn by David Marquez. Unlike previous stories and movies, the conflict in this storyline is not about the issue of government registration; a new Inhuman, Ulysses, has emerged with the ability to make very accurate predictions about the future, resulting in a conflict that emerged among the heroes led by Iron Man and Captain Marvel, Stark supports self-determination and is concerned about the prospect of coming to rely on vision while Danvers feels that his vision represents a potentially valuable asset.

Reception

At the time of its release, Civil War received mixed reviews. Comic Book Round Up gives this series an average grade of 6.5. According to a scientific analysis presented at Comic-Con International 2007, this conflict of stories is the natural result of what psychologists Erich Fromm calls "fundamental human dilemmas", conflicting desires for security and freedom, and "character motivation on both sides." arises from a positive human quality because Fromm's image of human nature is ultimately optimistic, assuming that people on both sides struggle to find what is best for everyone. However, over time, Civil War has become more well-received. IGN rated it as one of the largest Comic Book Events, and WatchMojo placed it at # 6 in the Top 10 Novel Novel Novel list and # 1 in the list of 10 Best Comics You Must Read.

Novel

Marvel adapted Civil War into a novel prose hardcover in July 2012 as the first of a series of four novels adapting some of Marvel's most significant fictional events. It was written by Stuart Moore, author of Namor: The First Mutant. The book extends to the story and organizes events during Barack Obama's first term in office, rather than George W. Bush's last term; Tony Stark refers to the Affordable Care Act when speaking to Spider-Man in the first chapter of the novel. The novel is set in an alternate time line created by the controversial "One More Day" storyline and is detailed in "One Moment in Time", as Spider-Man portrayed never married Mary Jane Watson, for never arriving on their wedding day. In its original comic version, Civil War is a hint for "One More Day", describing May Parker's assassination on the order of Wilson Fisk near the end of the Civil War.

Movies

Captain America: Civil War is the cinematic treatment of the story, although it focuses more on the issue of government control than public knowledge of secret identity, things are also enhanced by the intervention and manipulation of Helmut Zemo as his plan for revenge over the role of Avengers in the Ultron attack and the death of the Zemo family. The movie version of Civil War also differs substantially from the comics, with the fate of Bucky Barnes being a key element of the war after he was trapped for murder. As in comics, Captain America and Iron Man are the respective leaders of the anti-registration and pro-registration side of the conflict, with the Caps side including Falcon, Bucky, Ant-Man, Hawkeye, and Scarlet Witch, and Iron Man's side Black Widow, War Machine, Black Panther, Spider-Man, and Vision. In the end Stark and Rogers come to terms after realizing the truth, only for it to be short lived as Zemo reveals Barnes' role in the death of Stark's parents and that Rogers keeps the truth from him, causing him to angrily attack Rogers and Barnes, The fight culminates with Rogers leaving the shield and identity. The film ends with a Cap side seeking asylum in Wakanda after Black Panther admits he wrongly targeted Bucky. The latter is then fed into cryogenetic sleep. Black Widow continued his escape, and War Machine was left paralyzed after the wounds he suffered in the final battle.

Television

The different variations of the Civil War storyline are very similar to Civil War II because the features of Iron Man and Captain Marvel contradict each other has been adapted in the final 4 Season 3 sections of the Avengers Assemble <./i>. In this storyline version, the Registration Act targets new Inhumans, and Avengers teams are in conflict over this issue, as in other adaptations. It is revealed in Section 3, however, that the Inhuman Registration Act is actually part of a plan by Truman Marsh (actually an undercover Ultron) to start the Ultron Revolution by manipulating humans and Inhumans to destroy each other, thwarted by the combined efforts of the Avengers.

Video game

  • The comic was adapted into the 2009 Marvel video game: Ultimate Alliance 2 . While the storyline remains relatively faithful to the original comic, it takes a different path in the middle of the game, because its action is suspended for the heroes for a crisis involving the nanit network used to control the supervillain that embodies the form of consciousness. In the game, players must choose whether to favor Pro or Anti-Registration - with Captain America, Luke Cage and Iron Fist 'locked' into Anti-Registration and Iron Man, Mister Fantastic and Songbird in Pro-Registration- that affect the development of stories, characters who interact with them, and end the story.
  • In Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds , Iron Man and Captain America refer to events if they are pitted against each other. The player also received an accomplishment entitled "Who Side Do You Do?" if Iron Man beat Captain America or otherwise in an online game.
  • In Marvel: Contest of Champions , a special storyline featuring elements of the Civil War, such as the collector's death that clearly causes Iron Man and Captain America to be divided into what actions they should take with Iso -Spheres to be collected in the game. The storyline also introduces a special player in the form of Civil Warriors, identified as a version of Steve Rogers who witnessed so many deaths in the last battle of the Civil War that he adopted some of Tony's armor and dedicated himself to prevent further catastrophe.
